Ideal absorption of dampness, no unpleasant smells and 100% natural – this is the new Floragard substrate for turtles and terrariums for all kinds of tortoise, agamas, snakes and other demanding reptiles. In cooperation with experienced breeders and based on carefully chosen peat qualities a special litter has been developed. It can be used for pets at home and animals at zoos. Alongside the peat, the clay mineral “Bentonit” provides the substrate with an excellent dampness, whereas the precisely adjusted pH-value has been exactly matched to the demands of reptiles. A major advantage of the Floragard substrate for turtles and terrariums, which does not contain any fertilizer, is the odour-free absorption of urine and excrement without dampening and without developing mould. A well balanced dampness is crucial, especially for a development of a smooth shell. Due to the ideal structure of the substrate, the animals can easily bury themselves and lay their eggs in it. There will be no egg binding caused. In addition to the laying of the eggs the substrate is also suitable for hibernating. If in any case the substrate is mixed with the food, the danger of congestion in the bowel is minimized, in comparison to sand. After using the substrate in a terrarium it can be disposed easily. The substrate can be reused as an organic fertilizer in one’s own flower bed.
Hint: The substrate is also suitable for sheltered compounds and terrariums for animals that live in humid tropics (e.g. rain forest).
